Monday Morning Star Count - Quilting in the Ditch and Placemats

I’m quilting along the seam lines of the hexagons.  I think my uneven stitches will be less noticeable on the top that way.  My plan is to stitch one length of thread each day.  So far, so good.

I had a few hexagon flowers left over from the quilt.  I stitched two flowers to two placemats from the hyaku en store. They make a nice, inexpensive addition to our table.

  1. Your quilting is looking good. How long is a length of thread? Good idea to use the left over hexagons to beautify the plain placemats.

    1. Thanks. I'm not sure about the length of the thread - maybe about two feet?

  2. Looks wonderful. But stitching in the ditch is hard work with hand.

  5. It's great to have a plan for the quilting. No matter how long it takes, it's a very therapeutic activity and I hope you are enjoying the slow pace. It will be worth it.
