Culture Day

Today is a national holiday in Japan - Culture Day or Bunka no Hi. The purpose of the holiday is to promote culture, the arts, and academic endeavour.  I have the day off from work and I am thinking about how I will spend it.  I've pulled out this UFO - the Kogin bag I started a long time ago. I don't know if I will keep working on it after today, but I figure working on a Japanese needlework technique today qualifies as culture.

Depending on the weather today, I may go to a festival or I may stay home.  If I stay home and read a book, does that count as academic endeavor?

Of course reading counts as a cultural activity! You only need to take one single stitch on the Kogin bag and you have celebrated Culture Day. Enjoy the holiday. Sunny and bright in Tokyo.

Oh yie...If the weather is great get out and see something. You always find the most amazing places to visit. You can always read when you get home!

Have a great day off and weekend.
