Okinawa Karate Kaikan

One of the new to us places we visited in Okinawa this trip was the Okinawa Karate Kaikan. Karate originated in Okinawa.

This is the special dojo, Shurei Hall.  When the Emperor and Empress visited, they saw a demonstration here.

Inside this building is the shop, the restaurant, and the museum.

The museum, or Reference Room, has an entrance fee 310 yen.  Photos are not allowed to be taken inside.  There are many interesting exhibits and a movie with English subtitles, about Okinawan Karate.

Another interesting place you have visited Pamela. The karate sayings on the window are wonderful.
