Nago Lookout and the Light House in Hachijo Jima

One day I walked to the Nago Lookout and the Light House.

This is a surfing area, big waves.

Lookout or Lockout?

A little further down the road is the light house. I was expecting an old-fashioned light house, but this one seemed rather modern.

After this, it was on to the onsen.

Nago Lookout seems a like a very lovely place for a walk in nature.
Lighthouses everywhere are an attraction. this one in your post does look ,indeed, more modern and as such more intriguing.

What a beautiful walk. All that wonderful water. I remember being surprised one time when we took the train from Chigasaki to Otsu and seeing surfers as we went along the coast. I never realized there were waves big enough to surf. And of course, I am a sucker for lighthouses!

Lovely trail! I wonder what old-fashioned Japanese lighthouses look like? This one doesn't look different from ones I've seen in other places.
