Two good friends from Hokkaido came to Shizuoka to visit me. We had a big day seeing Mt. Fuji. First we visited the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Center in Fujinomiya.
The view from the top was nice.
After that, we walked the short distance to the Sengen Taisha Shrine.
Next was lunch. Fujinomiya's famous food is yakisoba, so that's what we ate! My friends opted for a mixed meat yakisoba and I ordered squid and shrimp yakisoba.
After lunch we took the train to Mishima, then a bus to the Mishima Sky Walk. The 400 meter long Sky Walk is the longest suspension bridge in Japan. It is 70 meters above the ground in the center.
Can you see Mt. Fuji inside the heart? It was getting cloudy around the mountain.
This big pink chair is in the restroom!
Thank you Noriko and Michiko! I enjoyed our day together!
Looks like you three had a wonderful day together. The walkway is quite an adventure by the look of it. The wisteria looks lovely - perhaps not quite at its peak yet, but still so beautiful.
What a truly wonderful day! Japan is just so beautiful -- I remember the first time I saw Mt. Fuji and I was spellbound -- and that was from the train! Wonderful buildings and views, but I suspect the best was that it was with friends.
Your friends seem to have enjoyed a lovely day with you. Not sure I would have been able to walk across the bridge.... scarey stuff!
ReplyDeleteWonderful to spend the day with your friends . You had some wonderful views of Mt Fuji. That walk way looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a fun and picturesque day!
ReplyDeletePamela: Love the pink chairs, when I show Mike the photos of Mt. Fuji he gets a little home sick.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos.

ReplyDeleteI can see you all had a wonderful day out! The views are amazing!
ReplyDeleteI could not have crossed that bridge - no head for heights!
