I think this was the first cross stitch afghan I made. The stitched date says it was finished in 1995. A strange thing is that one of the brown thread colors (DMC floss) is disappearing. It looks like this one color is falling apart, but all of the others are fine. Maybe I can fix it with new thread. Have you ever seen anything like this?
What a charming design. Yes, I have also had thread disintegrate. By chance, it was also brown and probably DMC. The problem was perhaps that the thread was from an old skein of my grandmother's. Using antique thread mixed with newly manufactured thread was not a good idea. Do you remember if you bought the thread or it was given to you? bought it?
I bought an old cross stitch kit once and one colour tends to just...fluff apart when I'm stitching it one stranded. It's an image, not an article to use, so as long as I can get it stitched on it should be okay, but I always wondered why it was just the one colour!
You have better eyes than I. I don't see the problem.
