More Monet

I’m continuing to work on my Monet piece. I like working with all of the different threads, the different textures and colors.  I think there are 34 threads used in this piece –Caron Soie Crystale,  Caron Waterlilies, Caron Wildflowers, DMC floss, DMC perle cotton #5, Gloriana, Gumnut Buds, Kreinik Braid, Rainbow Gallery Grandeur, Rainbow Gallery Mandarin Floss, Rainbow Gallery Pebbly Perle, Rainbow Gallery Splendor, Soie d’Alger, Soy Luster, Thread Gatherer Silk ‘n Colors.

The different stitches and thread textures of the upper part give the picture       a 3-D effect.

The reflection part of the piece I am working on now is done in kind of a random satin stitch. There are no directions that say bring the needle up here and down there or how many threads to cover at a time.  It is stitched with several colors in the needle and some of the threads are overdyes so the colors are always changing, making it really look like a reflection.

I haven’t been there, but this needlework piece is designed from the actual place in Giverny France. http://giverny.org/gardens/fcm/visitgb.htm The Japanese bridge really is that color of green and the wisteria were planted by Monet. Maybe I’ll be able to visit and see this place one day.

The flower planting in Hokkaido continues. These flower boxes along the sidewalk just popped up in the last week.
