The High School Matsuri

As I was crossing the road between the university and my apartment, I heard drums and chants, so I walked to the corner to see what was happening. There were students and what looked like floats going down the street in a parade.  My neighbors were also there and told me it was a student matsuri (festival).  It reminded me of my own high school homecoming event where students made floats and participated in a parade the day of the homecoming football game.
