Ornament Parade (Part 3)

This is a recently finished ornament, using the eyelet and Rhodes pattern with a silk ribbon rose in the center.

This is a silk ribbon poinsettia finished on a button.

This cross stitch snowman was done in 1996. I think this one is pretty cute.

Maxine Preda taught this three sided blackwork ornament done with DMC gold thread at an Indianapolis EGA guild meeting.  I think this was my introduction to blackwork. It was completed in 1997.

In 2009, I made this three sided blackwork ornament for Ted with an overdyed floss.  I added the dragonfly charms.

This is the over one cross stitch that I finished most recently.

I think the pattern for this Joy banner came from a cross stich magazine.  It’s done with floss on 18 count aida. I have it hanging on the wall because it is too big for the tree.

These tiny cross stich ornaments were made a very long time ago.  I might have made them when I was still in college.  The cross stitch is glued to felt and to the plastic ring.  I won’t tell you how many years that is, but the glue hasn’t been a problem.

These are my two sorority ornaments.  I am a member of Alpha Omicron Pi.  The red gingerbread ornament was made and given to me when I was a collegiate member at Western Illinois University. I purchased the little metal ornament, which represents our International Headquarters in Tennessee.

This beaded spool ornament was a gift from my friend Rhoda, who is the queen of beads and of all stitching.

I bought this red glass dragonfly for Ted at Duke Gardens a few years ago and am happy that it hasn’t broken. We don’t have an angel or a star at the top of our tree.  We have a red glass dragonfly.

This simple temari is from a class I took with Barbara Suess at the Japan Center at North Carolina State University in 2006.  I had no idea then that I would ever get to come to Japan.

So, now you’ve seen my ornaments.  I hope to complete a few more in the year ahead for next year’s tree.
