The Travelers Have Returned
Ted and
his five university students returned to Hokkaido Friday night and I was at the
airport to welcome them home. When I
asked them what was their favorite thing about their trip to America, they said
everything, they couldn’t choose.
While in North Carolina they
visited the NC Natural Sciences Museum , sailed and canoed on Lake Johnson ,
shopped at REI for outdoor gear, shopped at the NC Farmers’ Market , visited the
US National Whitewater Center (rock climbing, river rafting, ropes course, zip line),
visited the Nantahala Outdoor Center (rafting and kayaking), camped at Nantahala National Forest -Tsali Campground and Pisgah National Forest , rock climbed at the Chimneys in
Linville Gorge Wilderness , visited Grandfather Mountain , visited the farm of
Ted’s friends where they rode mules and had a cookout, visited NC State University and climbed on the indoor climbing wall, practiced their English
speaking skills, and made memories that will last a lifetime.
Wow! Did they have time to sleep?
