(For the full story on what this is, check out the Alphabet Club.)
This month's letter is "G". The Japanese word gaku (or gakubuchi) means picture frame. Here are a few of the small framed pieces I have here with me in Japan. Sorry about the reflections on the ones with glass.
It's my favorite too, the design makes the dragonfly look so delicate, the linen (?) you used gives a great effect and colors of frame makes a Perfect work! Bravo! xxx
Such gorgeous finishes! Particularly loved the red and black checkerboard. Also the 'You have stolen my heart' sampler. And loved the mottled teal matting of the last piece. Great TAC post! :)
Ooh love that last one, the green frame goes great with that dragonfly, too!

These are all beautiful. I particularly love the dragonflies.
ReplyDeleteYou've chosen some great frames for your very varied pieces of work.
ReplyDeleteI like the dragonfly one with the ribbon, that's a clever technique,
Lovely stitched pieces, my favourite is the patchwork cat - natch!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous framed stitching! I love the dragonflies but like Kaye, I have to say the patchwork cat is my favourite!
