I think most Americans are familiar with Oreo Cookies - chocolate cookies outside, white cream filling. When I was a child, I would dunk them in milk until the cookie was soft. Some people open the cookie and eat the white inside first. I prefer peanut butter or oatmeal raisin cookies, but Oreos are okay.
I saw these Oreos at the grocery store. These aren't the ordinary Oreos, they have a green tea cream filling! The package says "Japan Original". I always like to try things, but I probably won't buy them again. They are okay. If I really loved Oreos, I would buy them again. Have you tried any other variety of Oreo cookies? How do you like them? Is the original best?
That is original! I would love to try them. I do like cream filled cookies and Oreos are good. However, my fav. cream filled cookies are by Trader Joes, http://www.traderjoes.com/, a local grocery. They call them Mango Jo Jo's. The cream filling is mango flavored, so good I have to be careful.
The Japanese are very fond of adding their own touch to things. Look at how many Kit-Kat flavours there are, even 'wasabi'. Macha (powdered green tea) anything is popular, so you get macha latte, macha icecream, macha chewing gum, macha .....
I don't really like Oreos. My grandson goes in spurts of wanting them, but I am not eager to buy them because he crushes them in milk which leaves crumbs in the glass that sits wherever he leaves it until I find it and it is a pain. I see that Oreos came up with a salmon flavored filling....definitely don't want to try that!
But, M&Ms have a new flavor. Butterscotch center coated in white chocolate available only at Target stores. I'll be hunting THEM down!! Terry will love them, I will not. xx, Carol
Japanese Green Tea! I love Matcha. We recently ordered some Matcha flavored kit-kats and they were amazing. By the way, matcha green tea powder is great in cakes. I make it at home all the time :)
The only thing I like about an Oreo cookie is the (original) creme filling! I don't like the cookie part at all; it's too... bitter? They just released a Swedish Fish Oreo in the USA. No, thank you!

ReplyDeleteGreen tea filling???? Does that make the filling bitter? I do not like chocolate so are not tempted but my sons loved them when they were younger.
