The world's oldest person and the last known person born in the 1800's who was still alive, died last month. She was born November 29, 1899 in Italy and was the oldest of eight siblings, outliving all of them. Her mother lived to age 91 and several of her sisters reached 100 years. She credited her longevity to eating three eggs a day (two of them raw) for over 90 years and kicking out her worthless husband in 1938. They remained married, but living apart, until he died in 1978.

Since the 'to do' list keeps growing, I'd have to say yes!
ReplyDeleteIf I were healthy, fit, able to look after myself, still capable of stitching, and not a nuisance to others, why not!?
ReplyDeleteGee that is old!!! Just think of the changes in the world that lady would have seen!! I am with Queeniepatch, I would want to be healthy and capable of doing things for myself, maybe someone could cook for me though!! Lol!!
ReplyDeleteHi Pamela gee thats amazing,i would only want to live that long if i was active and still had my wits about me xx
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with others posts - depended on my health but I think it is amazing. just amazing
ReplyDeleteI was reading the other day that there was an Asian man who was 146!! I can't imagine living to be that old. I pretty sure I don't want to either. I'm also pretty sure that I would be outliving every other living family member. I also pretty sure my body and mind would give out long before 117.
ReplyDeleteGoodness, you would have to possess a strong constitution to eat raw eggs every day! Ah no, I don't want to get that old, but at least 80 would be nice.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I'd want to be that old...but as long as you're still 'there', both mentally and physically, why not? I don't think I'd like to eat two raw eggs every day, though!
ReplyDeleteIf I could be as hale and hearty as Emma, 117 would be great. If I quit buying stash now, I might get everything stitched up! Three eggs a day sounds good too - as long as they're cooked over easy. :D
