I have a few (!) old kimonos and even more old handkerchiefs, so I have the idea to make some little bags. Here's the first one I've started, using the sleeve.
If this one goes well, maybe I'll make some as gifts.
As a kimono is made up of mostly straight edged pieces it's easy to recycle. One could say that the sleeves are made for making bags and cushions!!! The handkerchief butterfly is another great recycle idea.
I am always thinking of ways to recycle items around the house and of course fabrics and clothes. This piece is a perfect example of making something new of the old. Love it. xx, Carol
This is really beautiful.
