After leaving Himeji, I took the train to Hikone and spent the night. I stayed at a hotel that let you pick your own pillow and that used a punch in number system instead of room keys.
After the buffet breakfast and checking out of the hotel, I walked toward my destination, Hikone Castle.
I think this shop makes grave markers.
Hikone's Gokoku Shrine was preparing for their festival. I attended the Gokoku Shrine Matsuri in Shizoka two years ago.
You look at these temples and graves and think how Japan is so beautiful, serene and elegant...and then suddenly, there is a cute samurai helmet cat grave marker!
A PIN number system for unlocking doors is so much better than keys that you can loose or forget to return - until you forget the number!
