I leave tomorrow on a week's adventure in Cairns. Australia has been on my bucket list for quite some time, and I am very excited. I only have a week, so I'll just be getting a small taste of a big country. (Maybe there will be other trips in the future?) I have blog posts scheduled for while I'm away and will have pictures and stories when I return.
I hope you have a lovely visit to Cairns, a nice cool time to be there with little humidity,don't forget the sunscreen and a hat, the sun is fierce down here. The annual whale migration has started, not sure if they are that far North yet but well worth a boat outing to see them, I'm sure you can check progress on the net. You could check out Paranella Park on line, an old derelict "castle" , see if you would like to visit, it's about 1.5 hours drive from Cairns, bus tours to it are probably offered if you don't want to drive. Hope you have a nice relaxing holiday, such a pretty place.
