First - a blog housekeeping type note -- Recently my blogger dashboard changed and also I am unable to comment on many blogger blogs. I suspect the changes are connected, but I don't know. Is anyone else having problems commenting on the blogs of others? Does anyone know how I can correct this?
Updated - I do have a gmail address. I never used Google +. The problem is not anything with my blog, but when I try to post on other people's blogs. Sorry I wasn't clear. Thanks.
Thanks for any help you can give me, and now on to today's post...
When I was in the US, I had two doll houses and lots of little things inside them. I had to give them up when I moved to Japan, but I still like little things. I dedicated my 2015 Smalls SAL items to miniatures, just in case I get another doll house.
I read Janet Granger's blog and often look through her website of minature kits. Recently she had a 10% off sale and I decided to place an order. She has a wide variety of kits, with many matching or coordinating sets. (Yes, I love things that match!) I ordered a large carpet kit, a small carpet kit, a cushion kit, a footstool kit, and the finishing kit for the wood in the footstool. I decided on this pattern because it had the most matching pieces - just in case I want to order more. The kits arrived rather quickly (coming from the UK) and were attractively packaged.
I decided to work on the cushion first. It stitched up quickly. I will finish it off into the cushion soon.
Maybe your blogging issues have something to do with Google+ closing down a bit ago? I didn't really use it so I have no idea how to fix things, but maybe it gives you a basis to google or something. Those tiny kits look so cute! I am very tempted to go have a look myself, and I'm afraid I might not stop at looking...
I use blogspot and my dashboard did not change. So I am no help. Usually when folks cannot comment on my blog, it's because they don't have a Gmail account. But look to make sure the comments are turned on, just in case the dashboard change messed up your settings. Why you cannot comment on other folks' blogs, I have no idea. I do have some comments turned off on some of my blogs, though, due to lots of spam comments. I delete 5-10 spam comments daily on my main blog.
My ability to leave comments suddenly changed on most blogs, but not yours, funnily enough. My Google Account does not come up as a choice in the 'Choose an identity' on many blogs. So instead I use Name/URL and type in the info. It takes time and is a bother, but it lets me comment. I think some of my previous followers have difficulty leaving comments on my blog, as I receive fewer comments now than before. Unfortunately it is all a mystery to me.
I love doll house items and use these miniatures a lot for teaching English. 'The telephone is on the table, the book is under the chair, the cat is on in the basket...' Punchneedle is perfect for carpets, too.
I'm sorry you're having problems with your blog, I too think it might ease up if you get a Gmail account. The Chiily Hollow Needlepoint Adventurer seems to have some good tips.
Your miniature kits look like great fun. I'm looking forward to seeing progress.
Oh dear! No I can’t help with your Blogger problem. We’re you a google + user, if so I guess that has caused the problem. Not sure if the lack of comments could be because so many people are blogging and they just don’t have time for commenting. But there again, a lot of people are using Instagram rather than blogging. One other possibility - I had probs commenting last year because I was using Safari on one gadget and chrome on another. I now only use Chrome and that seemed to solve the problem. Barbara xx Nearly forgot..... I love this teeny projects but I’m trying hard to resist them and use my stash!
Those are adorable! I never had a real doll house - but I used to make my own out of cardboard boxes from time to time. But those kits almost make me want a real one now!
Pamela: I have found that sometimes I can post on a blog and sometimes not, I think it has something to do with the bloggers anti-virus tool, maybe not. Love your new stash. Your pillow will look wonderful, please post a photo when constructed.
I have had that...can't comment problem.....but then it goes away. It really ticks me off to write an awesome comment, only to have an error pop up when I hit publish. For a while there I was copying every comment just in case. I really think that blogger is working something out. My dashboard has not changed.
Love your miniature projects. I don't have a doll house, but I do have a doll home in the works that involves where my alter ego will live. Her name is Lorac and she is a witch. Perhaps she will make her first appearance on my blog this October...or not. xx, Carol

Sweet mini little kits, a super finish
ReplyDeleteThese are really cute, Pamela!
ReplyDeleteAnd No, no changes to either dashboard or commenting. How curious...
