The Camino - Part 4, Continuing On

Grilled salmon, potatoes, carrots. spinach

Grande Hotel Da Povoa

About mid-day, I met up with a Portugese woman who lives in Switzerland.  We walked and talked and looked inside churches together.

We stopped for a late lunch at a restaurant and ate outside. We both ordered the special of the day, which included soup, a beer, the main dish, and a coffee.  The main dish was potato on the bottom, then spinach, then cod fish, then something like toasted bread crumbs. It was very good.

After eating and walking a little farther, I arrived at my hotel and my new friend continued walking.

Hotel Suave Mar - my room

Beautiful pool that doesn't open until June

More to come....

  1. You are having such a fantastic holiday with glorious weather, nice views, company, for and lodgings.
I am surprised to see so few people - what a contrast from Japan. Now with the LONG Golden Week EVERYWHERE is crowded here.
Enjoy the rest of your pilgrimage.

  5. What a glorious blue the sky is and so many wonderful things to see along your journey. Finding new people to chat to along the way as you both experience this pilgrimage must have been wonderful and helped pass the miles as you talked and learnt about each other.

  6. You don't really hear much about people vacationing in Portugal. There don't seem to be a lot of people in the pictures you posted. It looks like a very relaxing and beautiful place to visit. The food looks great too.

  7. Great photos. A long history exists in silence.

  8. The beaches look wonderful, as they aren't packed with people. Is that just because it was very early in the morning, or were they like that all day?

  9. Stunning weather and scenery. I have seen a documentary on the walk and it showed hundreds of walkers along the route, there don't seem to be any in your photos. Very quiet. Enjoy.
