Grilled salmon, potatoes, carrots. spinach |
Grande Hotel Da Povoa
About mid-day, I met up with a Portugese woman who lives in Switzerland. We walked and talked and looked inside churches together.
We stopped for a late lunch at a restaurant and ate outside. We both ordered the special of the day, which included soup, a beer, the main dish, and a coffee. The main dish was potato on the bottom, then spinach, then cod fish, then something like toasted bread crumbs. It was very good.
After eating and walking a little farther, I arrived at my hotel and my new friend continued walking.

You are having such a fantastic holiday with glorious weather, nice views, company, for and lodgings.
ReplyDeleteI am surprised to see so few people - what a contrast from Japan. Now with the LONG Golden Week EVERYWHERE is crowded here.
Enjoy the rest of your pilgrimage.
Yes, beautiful coast, architecture and weather.
ReplyDeleteFood looks good too. What's the temperature like?
Wonderful beaches to walk along and amazing architecture . How far do you walk each day?
ReplyDeleteWonderful places, nice encounters, inspiring walks… and then a lovely hotel, with yummy food, before a well deserved rest… Here you go ! I'm so happy for you. THANKS for sharing…

What a glorious blue the sky is and so many wonderful things to see along your journey. Finding new people to chat to along the way as you both experience this pilgrimage must have been wonderful and helped pass the miles as you talked and learnt about each other.
ReplyDeleteYou don't really hear much about people vacationing in Portugal. There don't seem to be a lot of people in the pictures you posted. It looks like a very relaxing and beautiful place to visit. The food looks great too.

Great photos. A long history exists in silence.
ReplyDeleteThe beaches look wonderful, as they aren't packed with people. Is that just because it was very early in the morning, or were they like that all day?
ReplyDeleteStunning weather and scenery. I have seen a documentary on the walk and it showed hundreds of walkers along the route, there don't seem to be any in your photos. Very quiet. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had great weather for walking, and the food looks delicious too. How fun to always meet people going the same way.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome. I am going to have to go back to see the other posts. Your photos are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos and a great place to be walking. xx
ReplyDeleteOh Pamela, what a wonderful experience! Your photos are magnificent. I hope you at least got to SIT by that gorgeous pool, even if you couldn't take a dip. It's beautiful.
