We met Sunday to start working on our NHK Partnership Quilt Blocks, but first we had some Show and Tell. A canvas bag like the Nobeyama one above was transformed into the Assisi Seahorse bag. The inside is lined, with a pocket, with the same green fabric. Wasn't this a great idea?
Another great idea was to add some colorful chicken scratch to this black and white gingham top.
Here are two more Assisi projects.
Next we had more animal talk - a lion, a hedgehog, a polar bear, and a panda.
That was a great way to transform the canvas bag. Chicken scratch really looks good on garments, doesn't it? Wasn't it 'the' thing for aprons in the past? I am really looking forward to seeing your Shimizu Animal Park in Tokyo Dome next January! You are lucky to have such good friends.
You seem to be having a lot of fun with your hobby. I'm hopeless when it comes to crafts, but I can see how great it is to have such a thing in common.
Your show and tell was fun. Loved the tote bag especially and your luncheon snacks look delicious!
ReplyDeleteAmazing idea for a new bag, Pamela. I love also the chicken scratch to the gingham top. Enjoy the time with the great group, my friend.

The canvass bags are both beautiful and practical! I appreciate skill, talent, art - but it all comes down to practicality in the end.
ReplyDeleteLove it all. This is such a great group!
