Rainy Day at Shizuoka Sengen Shrine

Saturday was a rainy day but I wanted to get out for at least a little while.  It has been raining quite a lot this summer, first the rainy season, then a tropical storm.

I decided to go to Shizuoka Sengen Shrine.  I've been there before and it had been crowded, but there were only a few other people there Saturday.

What do you do on rainy days?

  1. I mostly stay inside on rainy days but visiting this shrine is a much better idea. It's beautiful.

  2. I like to avoid crowds, so seeing the lovely shrine in the rain looks ideal.

  3. I think I remember you posting about this shrine before. If the rain is lite and I can think of a place to go I love to walk on a rainy day. There is something very serene and calming for me on a light rain day. My other alternative is to sit on the covered porch and read.

  4. The shrine is lovely. Thank you for sharing. Rainy weekends are a great excuse to watch old movies. I like to walk in the rain too, so long as it is not too cold.

  5. Wonderful place to visit and nice to see it without crowds of people. Sometimes I walk along the beach on rainy days but mostly I stay inside and sew.

  7. Recently, I mostly stay in on rainy days...I really need some peace and quiet! But it looks like you had a great day out. Do you know what these little bottles are for with the prayer boards? I don't think I've seen them anywhere else.
