It (he? she?) has a big red "X" marked across Covid-19, it has a purple heart shield with its name and of course, it wears a mask. Recently it has been seen handing out disposable masks in Tokyo. It can also be booked to visit schools or companies to share its message on keeping safe. What do you think - cute or creepy?
It is amazing how popular these mascots or characters are with adults, but it is certainly a part of Japanese modern culture. This one is quite cute and I hope it will be effective.
Cute and very Japanese, if it gets the message out to people then it is great.
ReplyDeleteI vote for "cute"! It makes me smile, which doesn't happen enough lately.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how Japan has a mascot for EVERYTHING! Cute.
ReplyDeleteCute. Anything that can bring attention to people about safety during covid, has got to be a good thing.
ReplyDeleteCute, of course.

It is cute. Is there a reason why they picked a cat?
ReplyDeleteOf course Japan has a mask wearing, anti Covid mascot! It's cute. I can't quite make out the name, but does it say Koro-NO! on its heart? :D
