Year Four of the temperature quilt
Week 22
September 21 - 27
72, 77, 79, 70, 68, 70, 68
For Years Two and Three, I purchased fabrics for the backgrounds of the blocks. This year I'm not so crazy about shopping and being around lots of people, so I looked through the fabrics I already have. I found some fabrics that look like cross stitch or samplers and decided to use them. I've been busy sewing the temperature blocks to the seven inch square background blocks. As soon as I get them all sewn together, I will remove the week number hexagons.
I am reporting the high temperature each day. My Year Four temperature/color (Fahrenheit) scheme remains the same:
100 + Brown
90-99 Red
80-89 Orange
70-79 Yellow
60-69 Green
50-59 Blue
40-49 Purple
30-39 Pink
20-29 White
10-19 BlackYou can see my finished Year One Quilt here.
The background works well, especially against the red, and oh, boy isn't there a LOT of red this year! It was a H O T summer!. I wonder if winter will mean lots of pink and white?
ReplyDeleteI like your backgrounds. Glad you could find something without having to go shopping at the moment.
ReplyDeleteGreat work! Beautiful, colorful hexagons!
ReplyDeleteGradually, we become aware of the fact that we've got a lot of things at home. No need to rush to the store for fabrics or other items.
Background fabric is good.
ReplyDeleteOh, I like that background! Even though you are using the same pattern every year, you still manage to make them all look different.
