Sankaeban Inari Jinja Shrine

It was late in the afternoon when I visited this little shrine and the shadows were long. This shrine is tucked in between a home and a little restaurant. It looks kind of lonely, but I saw a couple leaving as I was arriving, so it seems it does get some visitors. I think this is another tiny Japanese treasure.

  2. It's a small shrine, but It's in good condition. I think there is always a reason why there is a shrine. So I think it is necessary to cherish in the area.

The red Torii is dedicated the shrine. Local individuals and shops donate to local shrine to build Torii gates. The name of the person who donated or the store is written somewhere in the Torii.

  3. I think the stone fence with the chiseled inscriptions is also made of donations.
