Fully Finished Gallery - Sumo Sashiko Table Runner
I am linking up with Rachel's Fully Finished Gallery at Ten Hour Stitcher . Thank you, Rachel for hosting this SAL! I stitched this sashiko sumo wrestler some time ago, but didn't know what to do with it.
I recently decided to make it into a table runner.
I found the perfect backing fabric - a Japanese tenugi cloth with sumo moves on it. I am happy with it.
Pamela: I love the Sumo wrestler, the finish is perfect, the backing material what a lucky find and a perfect finish.

That looks great! I like the backing you chose, too!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on completion. Nice finish!.
ReplyDeleteIt seems that you can hear”Gottsuan-:desu“.
”Gottsuan-desu“ is the word used by Sumo wrestlers to say ”Thank you“.
In other words, it seems that Sumo wrestler is thanking you.
Sumo wrestlers on the back and front, and on either side of the sashiko you've got a cushion for the supporters to sit on! Great log cabin 'zabu futons'!
ReplyDeleteVery clever choice of fabrics, make this finish perfect. What a nice and useful work! Well done. xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun finish with the perfect backing!
ReplyDeleteThat really is the perfect backing fabric, those two just HAD to go together!
