I sometimes stop at the grocery store on my way home from work around 7 pm. The store closes at 8 pm, so it is hit or miss on what I will find. Sometimes they are sold out of things I want. Other times things are discounted. This time I did well. Six large peaches were discounted by half of 1000 yen regular price. Eight pieces of salmon sushi were 798 yen regular price, again discounted by half. How lucky was that?
There are people who hang around the supermarket waiting for the staff to put that Half-Price sticker on. You were lucky the bargain hunters had left some goods for you to find!
I think I was lucky to get both peach and salmon for half the price. Both of these foods are popular with Japanese People,so there is a high probability that they will disappear if the price is reduced. You are the total winner.🙌
Hello Pamela: You are so lucky to see the sales at the end of the day, I love salmon, the peaches' are find for that price.

Ilove it when things like that happen!
ReplyDeleteGreat find, although I think these peaches were rather expensive to begin with! I know fruit is not cheap in Japan.
ReplyDeleteGreat buy! Sometimes I shop on a Monday and meat is often reduced quite a lot then at our local supermarket.
