This is another beautiful, well kept temple in Shizuoka City.
This is the English translation from the temple website:
This mountain is a temple of the Toki sect that was founded in the first year of Bunpo (1317) at the end of Kamakura.
Based on the teachings of Ippen Shonin, from the first Hankuni-ko of the Imagawa family to the 15th Tokugawa generation,
I have been working hard to preach Nenbutsu memorial service in the land of Sunpu.
In the Tokugawa period, it was located in the northeast of Sunpu Castle, because it was located at the demon gate of the castle.
As a temple for the removal of the demon gate, I prayed for the long-term military luck of the Tokugawa family.
In the precincts, there is a "flowing well" that draws spring water from Sunpu Castle.
On the 24th of every month of the fair and on the 24th of the Great Festival
We have received many visits.
Holding 700 years, we continue to watch the history and progress of Sunpu Shizuoka.
This one strikes me as quite dfferent from some of the others. It's very lovely and like all of them, tranquil.
