I attended the Shizuoka Quilt Show a while back and hadn’t posted the pictures yet. I’m traveling now, so this is the perfect time to post the quilt pictures. I took a lot of pictures, divided into five posts.
This was the fifth year of this show. In the past it was held in a department store and was quite small compared to this year’s show, which was held in a large exhibition hall.
Oh my, how will the judges ever pick a winner? They are all quite amazing.

ReplyDeleteHowever, I will add that Yoko Sekita's townscape quilt with all the stories of daily life is, as always, a quilt you can stand in front of for ages and just look.
The zebra quilt is unique - I don't think I've seen this kind of 'trick of the eye' quilt in a long time.
The last quilt is a real stunner - something I'd like to have on my wall.
Then we've got that hexagon quilt. There is something so special with the hexagon shape and all the forms it can turn into...
Wow! What an extraordinary collection of quilts! I could stand there for days just looking at them and their exquisite workmanship.
