Mirai Human Washing Machine

I’ve seen reports on this gadget in multiple places. It was on display at the Osaka Expo 2025 and garnered a great deal of attention. It is a 2.3 meter long cleaning capsule, developed by Osaka tech company, Science, which calls it a 15 minute full body spa session. After the user lies down and the lid closes, micro-bubbles and fine mist showers do the cleaning. The human washing machine is equipped with sensors that monitor the bather’s vital signs, as well as soothing music and visuals.

All this is available for purchase for 60 million yen (about USD 387,000 at today’s exchange rate). I don’t have the space or the funds to acquire one, but I would like to try it out.

  1. Hm... Would I need this machine? NO.
Would I want this machine? NO.
Would I want to try it? Probably NOT.
I'll stick to manual washing! It has served me well all these years.
But hang on, it might be good for that day in the future when I will be bedridden, and the lack of nursing care staff is even greater than it is today.
