There is a lot packed into a small space at this shrine in Kawagoe. I visited this place in 2021, but entered from another street.
The shrine was established in 1590 and is believed to bring good luck to visitors, ward off evil spirits, and help in finding love. The shrine’s main symbol is a Yatagarasu, a three legged crow known for being a divine spiritual guide.
You can see from the photos that it was not crowded when I was there.
You were blessed with good weather on both your visits. What I remember most from my visit was the LOVE theme everywhere. There was even a 'fishing pond' full of stuffed fish-shaped dolls. Couples could test how lucky they were in love by catching one such fish. I think there was a small metal ring on the fish and a hook or possibly a magnet on the fishing line. Nearby was a very good tofu and vegetable restaurant.
