The Surprised Donkey

I met Ted for lunch at a restaurant called Bikuri Donki (Surprised Donkey). Ted had been there before, but it was my first time.  It’s kind of like the Japanese version of an American chain restaurant. They have an English menu on request.

Ted had a Caesar salad and fried chicken chunks and I had Donkey pizza (really, cheese pizza with habanero sauce).

One of the second hand stores is next store to the Surprised Donkey.  I bought these kimonos/kimono jackets – seven for 2000 yen!  The price marked was 500 each or three for 1000 yen.  Ted talked to the owner and made a deal – seven for 2000 yen. I’m going to take them apart and make something else.  (I don’t know what yet.)

For a very short time each spring Sakura (cherry blossom) soft ice cream is available. After our lunch and shopping, we had had cones and sat outside to eat them.

Everyone wants to be a panda.  This little friend of the panda was only 30 yen at the second hand store!

I will be interested to see what you make from those kimono jackets. They should be easy to unpick with their straight seams and rectangular pieces.
Sakura Icecream sounds great.
