The Camino - Part 11, A Great Day for A Walk

Continuing on...

Here is where I met Bridgit, a Canadian woman who had lived in Australia for many years. She is a teacher, a writer, and a creative person.  We walked together for the rest of the day.

Bridgit and I found out we were staying at the same hotel in Pontevedra.  After going to our rooms and cleaning up, we met in the hall and went out to see the sights together.

Owned by the Museo de Pontevedra, the Ruinas de San Domingos are the remnants of a 14th-century church and Dominican convent.

Capela de Peregrina

The Church of the Peregrina is a distinctive rounded church, located on the Praza da Ferreria.  It was build in the 18th century and is dedicated to the Pilgrim Virgin who watches over those walking the Camino Portugues pilgrim route.

This man (musician?) was sitting on the street when we walked by. He offered to do a relaxation thing for Bridgit with the vibrations from his horn.

We each ate an ice cream and wandered around a bit more. We ate tapas and talked, then walked back to the hotel and said good-bye.  The next day she was taking a rest day and I would continue walking.

It must have been great to have someone to talk to for a long time - so much to share about this pilgrimage.

Another great part of your hike and another new friend! That horn-thing looks interesting. Did it really relax her?

This is such a wonderful place to visit. Where are the tourists? How do you select a place to visit? You always choose such great places.
xx, Carol

I love all the interesting little things you see because when you are walking you have time to look. The architecture is quite amazing, too.

How fun to connect with Bridgit (and others you met on your trip) to have walking companions. And extra fun that you could enjoy getting around the town and doing something fun together. You've seen some remarkable things. I loved the series of photos of the relaxation exercise!
