Sengen Shrine Yabusame Festival

This festival is held every year on May 4, 5, and 6 at Sengen Taisha Shrine in Fujinomiya. I have been to it before.  The shrine is just a short walk from Fujinomiya Station.

Inside the shrine area, there was an ikebana display and some entertainment.

This is a beautiful shrine and UNESCO World Heritage site at the base of Mt. Fuji.

This water comes from Mt. Fuji and is cold and delicious to drink.

Here I am in the horse area.

We arrived early and had great seats, with a clear view of the horses and the second target. The riders shoot an arrow at the target as the horse quickly moves past.

Mt. Fuji still has a little bit of snow.

It was a wonderful day!
