Ueharahara Jizo Hall

While out for a walk on a road I had never been on before, I noticed this little almost hidden place.

According to google translate, this says “Commemorating the 2,600th anniversary of the Imperial era.”

This is the view looking back to the road.

You have found another hidden gem. I am sure many people walk past this temple without paying much attention. I find it interesting that palm trees are planted on the temple grounds, and that the stairs are old and worn, but the stone pillar where the name is engraved is new. Is that a hydrangea bush, on the right? Did it actually still have white flowers in bloom?

When I looked into it, I found out that this shrine is a shrine that prays for safe childbirth and the happiness of children.
It is a shrine with a long history. Good find.🙋

Love your walks & travels. Those narrow paths are so much fun to follow. I always enjoyed taking new ways and finding something interesting to explore.
