I attended the Shizuoka Quilt Show a while back and hadn’t posted the pictures yet. I’m traveling now, so this is the perfect time to post the quilt pictures. I took a lot of pictures, divided into five posts.
This was the fifth year of this show. In the past it was held in a department store and was quite small compared to this year’s show, which was held in a large exhibition hall.

The hand work in these quilts is beyond words.
I have seen many of these beautiful quilts before, and it is nice to see them again. You can always find details you missed before.
My favourite, actually, it is one of my absolute favourites of all quilts I have ever seen, is Eiko Okamoto's blue kimono quilt. The pattern is inspired by Edo Kiriko, the typical style of cutting patterns in glass that originated in Tokyo.
