Tokyo International Quilt Festival - Impressionists
There was a special exhibit featuring these quilters' interpretations of the impressionist artists. Going through my photos, I see I missed some of the exhibit, but I will show you what I did see and take pictures of. I'm sorry the photos are out of order.

The Prefectural Art Museum
My friend and I made plans to meet at the Prefectural Art Museum yesterday afternoon. It was such a beautiful day. I had about a 15 minute walk from the train station to the museum and saw some interesting things along the way.
Outside the museum is a sculpture garden.

The current special exhibit is 1968, Art in the Turbulent Age. I know about 1968 in the US, but had no idea about 1968 in Japan! It's an interesting and thought provoking exhibit. (Photos not allowed in the exhibit area).
Photos are allowed in the Rodin Wing of the museum.
(From the museum website: In March 1994, the Rodin Wing opened, displaying various works by French sculptor Auguste Rodin. Pieces exhibited here include The Gates of Hell, the 6th cast and six figures of The Burghers of Calais, and The Thinker. The bright, huge space gives visitors ample room to observe and enjoy these works.)
My friend and I each had a cup of coffee while we talked at the museum cafe. I could have visited the museum alone, but it was so much nicer to share it with a friend.
