My friend Rhoda sent me this link for making hexagon butterflies. I made one with bali fabrics and started another with Japanese fabrics. I haven't decided on the outside fabric for the second one yet. I will stitch these to something else.

You can see my finished Year One Quilt here.
Keiko Goke has a colorful website. This quilt artist was all about the cactus at this show.
Reiko Washizawa is another Japanese quilt artist and author. These are her quilts.
Suzuko Koseki is a quilt artist and author. I recognize her from the Tokyo show. These are her quilts.
I was surprised that there were so few bags. I've been spoiled going to the Tokyo show where there are so many.
This week, I continued working on the fobs. I have all of the top stitching and the chain stitch completed. Next is to make the twisted cords for the straps and the beads, of course.
I also worked a little more on the bookmark, although I am considering stitching this to something else instead of making it into a bookmark. We'll see.
I picked up the dogwood afghan and put a few more stitches in. It's hard to tell because some of it is white on white.
Saturday was another rainy day - the rainy season, you know. My friend picked me up in her car and drove us to an Indian restaurant I hadn't visited before. We both ordered the same thing - the two curry set. We both chose vegetable and bean curry, medium hot. It came with a salad, rice, naan bread and iced tea.
While we caught up on what had happened since last we met, we admired the Indian stitchery that decorated the restaurant.
We hope the weather will be nicer the next time we get together.
