Tokyo International Quilt Festival 2020 - Youth and Junior Categories

Some of these were group made and others, individually made quilts. There is a lot of creativity in these quilts.  When did you begin quilting - as a child or as an adult?

So many beautiful quilts.

The labels did not mention the age of the maker/makers, but many of the quilts were quite advanced.
I made my first patchwork (cushion) at the age of twelve. It was a very simple nine patch and stitched by machine. There was no quilting.
What about you, Pamela?

Great choice of topics he youths chose for their entries.
I've never really quilted before, just the odd small try. Perhaps this year i'll try harder to find time to give it a try.

I love the Cat Friends one because it is so cute, but there are some very talented youngsters there who will no doubt feature in the main part of the show in years to come.

I still haven't gotten into quilting, but I started cross stitch and crochet as a child. I think it's important for kids to have creative outlets, and makes for such cool memories too!
