Autumnal Equinox Day - 秋分の日, Shūbun no Hi

Tomorrow is a national holiday in Japan - Autumnal Equinox Day. It can occur on either September 22nd or 23rd.  This year it is the 23rd.  It became a national holiday in 1948.  In 1947 and before it was the date of a Shinto religious holiday. It was changed as part of the separation of religion and state in Japan's post war constitution.

It might be a good day to get out and look at the fall leaves.

I think we will have to wait a lot longer before we see any red leaves in my neck of the woods - autumn will be warm and show its colours late.
Good to have a set of 'artificial' autumn leaves at home!
enjoy the holiday.

The colorful leaves and small houses are so cute.

I love that it's a holiday for you. And also loving your celebration!

I noticed there is a blue leaf on both your table runner and the bird house. Is that just because you like blue, or is there actually a tree that turns blue-ish in the fall?
