2018 Smalls Stitch A Long - January

This is the fifth year I've joined in the Smalls Stitch A Long.

Links to my finishes are: 2017 - Calendar Cats

2016 - Ornaments and other things

2015 - Miniatures

and 2014 - Little Toolies.

Now for 2018, I think my theme will be ornaments.

This month's ornament is a 1995 design by Patricia Timpanaro, called Christmas Cross.  I used Watercolors thread and seed beads on 18 count canvas.  The twisted cording is made from #5 perle cotton.

I'm linking up with Heather, at Stitching Lotus, the hostess of this stitch a long.

Peace Park Butterfly Garden, Okinawa

One of the things we saw at Peace Memorial Park was the Butterfly Garden, which is home to hundreds of Paper Kite Butterflies

It was like magic to see these fragile looking creatures all around us.

I received this beautiful beaded ornament in the mail from Catherine, who blogs at I Love to Stitch.  Beads and blue - I love it!  Thank you for your great gift.

Work In Progress Wednesday - Hiding Progress

Thank you Vireya  for letting me know this is a Brenda Ryan design.  Sally also told me it was stitched by Lynn B. as a gift for her sister. Check out the links to see the free pattern and the finished pieces.

Fukushuen Garden

This is another place we visit every time we go to Okinawa.  You can read more about it here (2013 trip - end of post),  here (2015 trip) and here (2016 trip).  It is a beautiful place.
