The stitch group got together after a bit of a yasumi (break). We had some show and tell of finished projects.
The new project was chicken scratch, with lots of choices about finishing ideas - an apron, maybe a cushion cover, possibly a cloth to wrap up lunch. They will be thinking about it.
It had been awhile since we met, so we had lots of treats!
Sefa-utaki is said to be the most sacred place in Okinawa. It is located on the Chinen Peninsula and according to Ryukyu history is the place where the goddess of creation, Amamikyu, made landfall on Okinawa. It is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Gusuku Sites and Related Properties of the Kingdom of Ryukyu in Okinawa.
The entrance fee is 300 yen and you have to buy the ticket from a vending machine at the parking area before you get to the site. The signage was in English as well as Japanese.
I started this last week and it's been pretty fun. I carry it around and can work on it during my lunch hour at work. It's one color of thread and I don't need to look at a pattern. I've finished one edge and have made progress on the first stitch along the long sides.

Mibaru Beach is about an hour southeast of Naha. After putting on lots of sunscreen, we had a picnic lunch and waded in the water.
