Work in Progress Wednesday

Has a week gone by already?

Two more lengths of thread on the Kogin project.

A little more on the pocket, plus getting the canvas ready on the purse, but not actually stitching anything on it.

These are 17 in 2017 projects.

This week I also made up a small kogin panel, using Needle Necessities Pearl 5, which I will make into a gift.  I like the small color changes in this thread.

The pattern for this and my kogin bag project (above) come from this Japanese book.

  1. The change of shade in the thread gives the Kogin embroidery an antique look - 'boro' colour?
You have worked hard and everything is coming along nicely.

  5. This book must provide wonderful projects. I love the bag on the cover and I think this is the bag you are making.

  6. I love the slight variations of color in the floss too! It lends the project just a bit of dimension.

  7. Great progress! I like how the Kogin looks using the Perle thread. What type of fabric have you been using?
