Hard to imagine such a large creature hiding so well for a couple of weeks. Sounds like she had just had enough of zoo life for a while!

They are beautiful!
I can see how she was hard to spot, with her coloring she's probably close to invisible in the shrubs. Plus she doesn't make any noise if she's not moving, lol

Tortoises are prone to escape. I have seen them climbing on top of each other just to get over a fence!
