Fukuoka - Kushida Shrine and Asian Art Museum
Kushida Jinja is a shinto shrine in Fukuoka, founded in 757. There are several sub-shrines on the grounds in addition to a 1,000 year old Ginko tree.
Fukuoka Asian Art Museum
According to the brochure the FAAM collects modern and contemporary artworks that show the originality and distinctive aesthetics of Asian art without adhering to the framework of 'fine art' derived from modern Western values. The 23 countries and regions included are Bangladesh, Bhutan, Grunei, Cambodia, China, India, Korea, Laos, Malaysian, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, N Korea, Pakistan, Phillippines, singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnan, and Japan. Admission to the Permanent Collection is 200 yen.
