I had a busy three day holiday weekend. Friday was a national holiday in Japan - Culture Day, and I met some friends to attend the Tokai University student festival. I also attended last year and posted about it here. This campus of Tokai University is known for marine science and oceanography.
This is the view from the library building.
Mt. Fuji has no snow because the previous weekend's typhoon blew it all off. |
First, we looked at the many club exhibits inside a classroom building. It's amazing how hard they work at putting these exhibits together.
I think my favorite is this Navigation simulator.
Outside there were many game and food booths, run by the student organizations.
This booth was selling cooked horsemeat. |

Great day out for you and wonderful to walk home along the beach.
I am glad that you had a great day, Pamela. The campus seems beautiful! Kisses, my friend.
A day of culture and education, and a sunny walk, too. Lucky you!
Interesting displays. The simulator is a great idea.
Is there any vegetarian food in Japan? I don't like eating meat at the best of times, but I really don't want to eat horse.
That's a great idea to have a culture day.
Lots of interesting things to learn and fun; the 'frightening shark' and food.
Thanks for sharing.
Those students sure put a lot of work into their exhibt! I love all the little fish.
