Tokyo International Quilt Festival - Framed Quilts

I have not seen framed quilts at other quilt shows, but it makes sense in Japan, where there is little space for large things. One thing I noticed with these quilts is that there are many embroidered details in addition to the quilting. The show was very crowded, so I couldn't get many straight on photos, but I hope you can see some of what I saw.

They are beautiful works of art.

These quilts are unique because they are framed, but it is also interesting to look at the frames themselves. I didn't notice the staled glass frame.

I haven't seen a "framed quilts" category in other shows, either. These small works of art are amazingly beautiful.

These are charming. I love the diversity of the subject matter. It would be hard to pick a favorite but that fish is especially striking!
