Maruyama Toshogu Shrine 東雲神社(丸山東照宮)

This little shrine is next to Sengen Shrine.  Some of it looks very old, but there are also some wood pieces that look very new.

The small drink cans are not trash.  They are full and left like an offering. I often see drinks or food or sometimes little toys at shrines and temples. I’ve never seen anyone leave them or take them away.

It appears to be a peaceful little shrine. It is both well-kept and a little neglected - the noren curtain is old, and the leaves have not been swept up, but the straw curtain (shimenawa) and tangerine that decorate the tori gate are new, as well as the bell rope.
I am sure the drink cans will be left for some time and then removed by a Shinto shrine caretaker. Instead of anyone drinking the contents, the sake and tea might be sprinkled in the shrine grounds as an offering.

This is another beauty. It looks very peaceful and lovely. The drink cans are interesting. I don't think I'd ever think of leaving a drink as an offering.

Old, but well kept! What a charming little shrine.
