One Heart Ballet

I don’t often get to see ballet here, so I am excited when I get the chance to attend a performance.

This performance was absolutely wonderful. The dancers were Japanese and Ukrainian (Awaji World Ballet). There were also 17 children dancers who must have been thrilled to take part. There were exerts from Swan Lake and a full act from Don Quixote. My favorite part was an original piece of the Japanese Crane.

Here is the link to the official page of the featured ballerina, Emi Hariyama. I hope I can see these dancers again.

The Ballet Recital

My friend’s niece invited me to join their family for her ballet recital. I’ve seen her recitals for years and it’s been wonderful seeing how she has advanced. She is so beautiful and graceful - a natural ballerina.

The performance started with the youngest dancers and they were so cute. This was followed by many dancers (including my friend’s niece) in “beat of the music” all wearing the same wispy black dresses, then a pas de deux with two of the advanced level dancers. The main story was a long three part story of Sleeping Beauty. In the prologue, my friend’s niece was one of three canary spirits. Later she was one of Princess Aurora’s friends, and then Little Red Riding Hood.

I thoroughly enjoyed it all.  It was a very professional production, with all levels of dancers included in all parts of the performance. My friend’s niece and her family are so kind to always ask me to join them.

Spring Danann

I am so thankful that my friend's niece invited me to her dance performance again this year.  It was different this time, in that the main story was danced by professional dancers and the dance school students filled in with the other parts. I was told that the orchestra was made up of university music students. It was a fabulous show!

This link is the website. And below are some pages from the program.

I loved the show and am grateful I was asked to attend!

The Nutcracker Performance

My friend's niece and her family invited me to attend her ballet performance where she played Clara in the Nutcracker. I was thrilled to be able to attend and Clara was fabulous! I am so thankful to be included in these events.
