Saturday Outing in Kambara

After going to Nihondaira Terrace last month, my friends and I planned to hike Satto Pass and see Mt. Fuji.  Unfortunately, it was rainy yesterday, so we had a change of plans that turned out very well.  We took the train to Shin-Kambara Station and set off on a historical walk.

This is our first stop. This was once a place to stay, but is now a rest stop, with various things for sale.

All along one wall were these fabric pictures done with blue dye.

This is the upstairs.

This is another old building across the street that was an inn on the Tokaido Road.

This is the former Igarashi Dental Office, now a museum.

The next place is Shida House.

After that, we visted the Community Exchange Center.

We had lunch at this restaurant and we all ordered the same thing - sakura ebi.

The rain stopped, so after lunch we took the train back to Okitsu and walked up to a shrine or maybe a temple, I'm not sure.

After walking back down, we stopped at a cafe for Japanese tea and dessert.  Three of us had macha cheese cake and one had fruit dessert.

What a great day!
