Summer Vacation
I leave tomorrow on a week's adventure in Cairns. Australia has been on my bucket list for quite some time, and I am very excited. I only have a week, so I'll just be getting a small taste of a big country. (Maybe there will be other trips in the future?) I have blog posts scheduled for while I'm away and will have pictures and stories when I return.

I hope you have a lovely visit to Cairns, a nice cool time to be there with little humidity,don't forget the sunscreen and a hat, the sun is fierce down here.
The annual whale migration has started, not sure if they are that far North yet but well worth a boat outing to see them, I'm sure you can check progress on the net.
You could check out Paranella Park on line, an old derelict "castle" , see if you would like to visit, it's about 1.5 hours drive from Cairns, bus tours to it are probably offered if you don't want to drive.

Have fun in Cairns! I've been there once for a week's holiday. It is a good time of year for a visit to FNQ (Far North Queensland).

I hope you're having a great time! I enjoyed my week in Australia last year, but the country is really too big to see a lot in such short a time.
