Work In Progress Wednesday

Bookmark - I had a scrap of canvas and wanted to make a bookmark, using a freebie pattern from the Design DIY Blog Suzi.  Unfortunately, the thread I chose for the leaves is too close to the color of the background. I will either outline the leaves, or pick out the leaves and change colors.

Zipper Pouch progress - just a little progress. The pieces are small and I’m trying to keep it accurate.

When I choose the colours myself for a ready design, I often make a miscalculation of the contrast. Outlining the leaves would be a smart solution, saving you time.

How do you keep the linen from fraying? Do you brush the edges with fray stopper or nail varnish?

I find it difficult to work on canvas with a raw edge. I usually bind the edges with masking tape so the threads don't keep snagging on the rough canvas edge. I don't know what I'd do where there is not enough extra canvas beyond the design to do that.

You are so close to done! I haven't done needlepoint in ages, but like Lyn, I always taped masking tape to the edge.

Wow, that scrap for the bookmark is a really tight fit! Good job using that up.
The knot garden is making such great progress, I'm loving it!
